UK releases six years of UFO records.

Posted by: mountaindew10001 | October 21, 2008 | No Comment |

“Alitalia pilot Achille Zaghetti thought it was a missile.

Zaghetti was at the helm of a jet from Milan to London’s Heathrow Airport on the evening of April 21, 1991 when a flying object streaked across his field of vision.

“At once I said, ‘look out, look out’ to my co-pilot, who looked out and saw what I had seen,” Zaghetti wrote in his report. “As soon as the object crossed us I asked to the ACC (area control center) operator if he saw something on his screen and he answered ‘I see an unknown target 10 nautical miles behind you.’”

An investigation later ruled out a missile – but never ruled anything in, either.

The close encounter is one of many reported UFO sightings among 19 files that Britain’s National Archives posted Monday to the Web. The new material covers UFO sightings between 1986 and 1992.

While the 1,500-page batch of documents debunks a host of UFO sightings, others like Zaghetti’s near-miss with a UFO remain unexplained.

On June 17, 1991, four passengers on a Hamburg, Germany-bound Dan Air 737 spotted “a wingless projectile pass below and to the left of the aircraft” as the flight climbed out of London’s Gatwick Airport.

“It would seem to have passed fairly close by as the passengers were able to see it quite clearly,” the Civil Aviation Authority wrote in its report.

More disturbing was a sighting a month later by crew aboard a Gatwick-bound Britannia Airways Boeing 737, who saw a “a small black lozenge-shaped object” zipping past about 100 yards (90 meters) to the left of the aircraft.

The airport confirmed seeing an object on its radar and clocked it traveling at kmh. Air traffic controllers quickly warned the next aircraft to turn out of the object’s flight path, although by then the object had disappeared from view.

Speculation centered on a weather balloon released in the area the same day, but an investigation could not determine what the UFO was.

Monday’s release is the second batch of UFO files that Britain’s military has put out this year. David Clarke, a UFO expert who has worked with the National Archives, said in the next few years, a total of 160 UFO-related files will be made available to the public.

Some things in the newly released files were either unhinged or unverifiable.

One correspondent tells the military he was shouted at by aliens while sleeping outdoors.

Another writes in “with extraordinary news”, saying the “legendary ‘feathered serpents’” are waiting for permission to land on earth. One US pilot’s tale of being ordered to shoot down a UFO over eastern England, forwarded to the Ministry of Defence by a UFO enthusiast, was kept on file though the military turned up no evidence of it in its official records.

Occasionally, though, officials got to the bottom of the sightings.

On a clear November afternoon in 1992, an office worker called the Ministry of Defence, saying a strange shimmering object was descending slowly over London’s Regent’s Park.

“As call progressed, it became clear that the object was a kite,” an unidentified military staffer noted drily in his write-up.”

As soon as I read the preview of this article I imediatly though is there real life beyond our world and what would happen if they landed on earth would they try and over run the human race?

To me this is one strange article but I don’t really believe in aliens because if there were aliens in this universe then you think that they would have come and landed on this planet by now but there is the other side of the story like the fact that they may be in another galaxy to us and that they don’t know that the humans exist so they cant come to earth.

But what would happen if they did come to earth?

Would they over run us?

It would be great to hear what you think.

My band goal would be to learn more scales and learn to get the high notes.

I can do this by spending more of my free time practicing my trumpet.

Wearable arts

Posted by: mountaindew10001 | September 2, 2008 | 1 Comment |

In week 9 Te Awamutu intermediate has its wearable arts competition where the whole school makes their own costume in the many different categories which include futuristic atire the big day out and evening wear. My partner Iain and I are make a costume to go with the futuristic theme and it includes one of us wearing a costume which resembles a futuristic guy wearing a jet pack and a full body suit with a helmet. We have started to collect the nessicary items to make the costume along with some glitzy items to flash it up. We think that with our costume may get through the team finals and into the school finals because we are confident that it will come out like we had planed. Although there are many things that could go wrong like our costume falling apart when we are trying it on and not being able to find what we need but we while overcome these problems when the arise.

Small Bore Rifle Competition

Posted by: mountaindew10001 | August 19, 2008 | 1 Comment |

On Sunday the 17th of August the Cliff Tait air group traveled to the Te Awamutu Small Bore Rifle club to partake in the annual Waikato wide Small bore rifle competition which we have held for the past two years. When I first arrived there was already over 50 people there and that number just kept growing and growing until I couldnt walk around without having to navigate my way through the sea of people so I sat down and started txting for the hour and a half I was waiting before I got my shoot. In my shot I had one of my leaders Blackbird shooting beside me and Thomasbeside him. I did quite well in my shoot shooting an 81 with Thomasnot doing as well coming out with a 46. In his practice David shot a 40 and in his real shoot a 26. The way of determining who wins is by finding the averages of the groups shoots and then whoever gets the highest average wins and as we didn’t shoot to well I didn’t want to stay and lose. So I txted Thomas’s mum and she came and picked us up and homeward we went.

Carnage on the roads.

Posted by: mountaindew10001 | August 3, 2008 | 1 Comment |

“Four people were killed in a deadly Saturday night on North Island roads.

There were no survivors in a crash between a van and a car at Rangiriri in the Waikato. The serious crash unit is investigating how three people died in the smash on Glen Murray Road at about 8.40pm.

The victims were a 47-year old local woman who was driving the van, and two 20-year-old local men in a Honda Civic.

And a 37-year-old man died in a two car crash on State Highway 29 in the lower Kaimais. Three others with serious injuries were taken to Tauranga Hospital.

State Highway 29 was closed for over four hours.”

This info was sourced from http://tvnz.co.nz/view/page/411749/1975471.

I think that the road casualties this year are getting worse an worse and that many of these crashes could be prevented. I also think that its very sad how four people died in two different crashes last night that could have been prevented. I am unsure what the cause of these crashes were as the info above only gives a brief explanation on the crashes and didn’t give a clear explanation on how the crashes happened. I think that one way to lower the road casualty rate in New Zealand would be to raise the driving age to some where around 18 because this would mean that the drivers were a lot more mature and probably wouldn’t be as stupid while driving a car. This would also mean that they wouldn’t get their full licence until they are at least 21 which would once again mean there are more mature people at the wheel of a car. But once again I think its just sad that four more people have did in an accident this year.

Cliff Tait Air Scouts

Posted by: mountaindew10001 | July 29, 2008 | No Comment |

On a Tuesday night at seven o’clock my neighbor Thomas and I travel to the Te Awamutu Methodist church to partake in the Cliff Tait Air Scouts. The Cliff Tait Air Scouts consists of Andre, Thomas, David and I there are also three leaders Blackbird, Harrier and Tracy. The Cliff Tait Air group was founded to help kids from the age of ten and a half through scouting but also teaching them about the getting their pilots licence at the same time. In the term 3 holidays the cliff tait group are planning to travel to the auckland airport and visit the jet engine testing zone the mantinance hangers and the airport fire crew. during our time in preperation for this trip we have to get ourselves some photo I.D and we also learnt that we can only carry 100mls of liquid to and from the jet engine testing zone and the mantance hangers this is because with certain liquids you can create a bomb.

Review of my goals

Posted by: mountaindew10001 | July 2, 2008 | No Comment |

One of my goals for term 1 and 2 would be to get more work done. I could do this by putting my head down and and not talking.

Another goal for for in class would be to get work handed in on time. I could do this by getting it started early instead of the night before its due.

Another goal for in class is to get more involved in my group work. I can do this by getting more involved and giving my opinion more.

A personal goal would be to practice my trumpet every day so I can learn more and learn faster. I can do this by practising for half an hour every day.

Yet another goal for school would be to learn the opening and closing karakia without any help.I can do this by practising more

For the first half of this year I think that I have completed some of my goals like the trumpet goal as I have finally joined senior band and I am starting to practise for more then 10 minutes a day.

Also I believethat I probably haven’t done much work when I should have been working as I get easily distracted.

I belive that in these past few terms I have been more involved in my group work because I have been giving my opinion more often and helping to do the work.

These past few terms I have been getting my work in on time and not in late also I havnt been doing the work the day it was due.

Also I have been learning the opening and closing Karakia and now I can almost say it without help.

Gang Headquaters Gutted by Fire

Posted by: mountaindew10001 | June 19, 2008 | No Comment |

At around seven o’clock this moring Invercargill fire services where called to the headquaters of The Road Kinghts gang. Police have discovered that there was an offical website of the Road Knights gang on which threats were posted saying that on day they wont even be a memory. Also there was comments saying that the gang were all homosexual and rapists. Aparently when they fire fighters got to the scene the whole top floor of the building and that there was a man sleeping unaware of what was going on around him he has been saftly removed from the building. The fire crew managed to save one of the gang motorcycles all though they say the building is now untenable. the fire crews are still clueless as to the cause of the fire as there is no sign of accelerants. this inormation was sourced from tv3.co.nz
